Three steps to size up competitors
- 1
Add competitors
Enter their addresses or pick them from the sites AI named in your measurements.
- 2
We ask the assistants
Up to 8 questions from your industry, plus a head-to-head and an alternatives question for each competitor.
- 3
Compare the results
See the ranking, the head-to-heads and the questions where no tracked brand has come up yet.
Which questions they beat you on
For each industry question, you’ll see which tracked brand AI names most often. And where it names none of them yet.
- We only count industry questions that don’t name any brand.
- Under 10 mentions, we show counts, not percentages.
And 3 more questions.
Who the assistant recommends head to head
We ask which is better, you or a competitor. The assistant has to start with the one it recommends. We also ask for alternatives to that competitor.
- Who came first in the answer, for each assistant separately.
- Whether AI suggests you as a replacement for the competitor.
- Head-to-heads don’t count toward the ranking or the share.
“Which is better, Kafério or Zrnotéka? Start with the one you recommend.”
“Kafério, if you want small-batch coffee. Zrnotéka has a wider selection and a subscription.”
You don’t need to know your competitors up front
We pull the sites AI named next to you from your measurements. Track the ones you really compete with in one click.
- Adding or removing costs no credits. Measured data stays.
- Every AI visibility measurement also scores tracked competitors.
They may not be competitors. Track only the ones you actually compete with for customers.
Why AI recommends them
On a competitor’s detail page, we go through the answers where AI mentioned them and list the reasons given. The insight costs 1 credit and is saved.
- You and them side by side: mentions, share and trend over time.
- Questions where only they come up.
Mainly for its subscription and clearly stated roast dates.
Sites the assistants found while searching
When an assistant searches the web, we save the sites from its results and citations. Your AI visibility results show the top ones and how often AI mentioned you in those answers.
- The top 8 sites. Open one to see the questions and assistants where AI found it.
- Whether your own site is among them.
- For a competitor, the sites from answers where AI named them.
In 36 of 48 answers AI looked things up on the web. Most often these:
Green: AI mostly mentioned you in those answers. Amber: only sometimes. Red: never.
How we measure it
- We take up to 8 industry questions from your tracked questions that don’t name your brand.
- For each competitor, we add two questions: which is better, and what the alternatives are.
- We ask the assistants via their official APIs with web search on.
- We read mentions and order from the answer text. In head-to-heads, a model also checks that the answer describes you, not just echoes your name.
- A model writes the insight from the saved answers.
- Sites come from the citations and search results assistants return.
What this feature can’t do
- You start competitor measurements yourself. They aren’t part of automatic measurement.
- The ranking covers only sites you track, not the whole industry.
- Samples are small, a few answers per question. Results can vary between measurements.
- We only know the sites for answers where the assistant searched the web. We show sites, not individual pages.
- The insight sums up answers. It can’t show how models decide.
- Head-to-head and alternatives questions are in Czech for now, even for sites in other languages. Industry questions are asked exactly as they appear in your list.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from regular competitor analysis?
We don’t track prices, traffic or Google rankings. We show who ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name and recommend, plus Claude on Profi and up.
How many competitors can I track?
Starter 3, Profi 20, Enterprise unlimited. The limit applies to each site separately. You can pick up to 5 for a single comparison.
How many credits does it cost?
One question costs 1 credit per assistant, or 3 credits for Claude. For example, 8 industry questions and 3 competitors make 14 questions, which comes to 42 credits with three assistants.
The “Why AI recommends them” insight costs 1 credit. We refund credits for answers that don’t arrive and for an insight that fails.
Does Custela watch competitors for me?
You start competitor measurements yourself. But every measurement of your AI visibility evaluates your tracked competitors, automatic ones included. If one of them jumps by 10 percentage points or more, you get an alert in the app.
Does AI know why it recommends a competitor?
The insight summarizes what the assistants wrote in their answers, for example about price, selection or reviews. The answers can’t tell us how the models decide internally.
How is this different from measuring my own brand?
That shows how often AI mentions you and what your AI score is. Here you compare yourself with specific competitors. More in How often AI mentions you.
